Virginia Ruth (O'Rourke) Henry

Virginia Ruth (O’Rourke) Henry, of Junedale, passed away suddenly Sunday at her home, after recently celebrating her 85th birthday on March 15 and her favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s Day.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Almina (Cameron) O’Rourke.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Weatherly.

In her younger years, she was employed at Industrial National Bank in Providence, RI, as a bank teller. She was also a Judge of Elections in Junedale for many years.

Virginia loved spending time with her family and making wonderful memories, especially vacations in Cape Cod and Sunday turkey dinners. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.

She was the last surviving member of her siblings. Preceding her in death, were her husband, Daniel Henry Jr; daughter, Nancy Sernak; brothers, Robert, Richard, and Edward O’Rourke; sisters, Marion Kawaloski, Ann Lewicki and Marjorie Degreyse.

Surviving are her daughters, Natalie Furlani and husband Eugene, of Kelayres; and Kathleen Storaska, of Oneida; son, Daniel Francis Henry, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer Furlani, Ryan Sernak and his wife Antonia, Sarah and Kristen Storaska and Jacqueline Henry; great-grandchildren Chase Sernak and Inaya Alcontara; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s R.C. Cemetery, Beaver Meadows.

A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church.
