Vera M. Lombardo, 73, a life-long resident of McAdoo, passed away Saturday morning at the Seasons Hospice of Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Madochick) DeBalko.
Vera was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, McAdoo.
Prior to retiring, she was last employed at DeBalko’s Standard Drug Store, McAdoo.
Vera was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be sadly missed by many.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband Albert J. Lombardo; brother George DeBalko (2020); and sister-in-law Simonette “Sam” DeBalko (2018).
Surviving, are her daughters, Veronica Bianco and husband Ralph, of McAdoo; and Mary Katona and husband James, of McAdoo; son Albert John Lombardo, of McAdoo; grandchildren Sean, Lindsey and Lucas Wood; and Caitlin, Andrew, and Alex Katona; brothers Joseph Debalko, of McAdoo; and John DeBalko and wife Michelle, of McAdoo; sister-in-law Victoria DeBalko, of Mt. Prospect, IL; several nieces and nephews; and also her faithful dog “Lucky”.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Damiano Funeral Home, Inc., Blaine and Cleveland Sts., McAdoo. The Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s B.C. Church, McAdoo, by Rev. Gregory Hosler. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. A Parastas Service will be held at 7 p.m.
