Theodore A. Shane, 87, of McAdoo, passed away Saturday morning at his home.
Born in Freeland, he was the son of the late Theodore J. and Bertha (Wydock) Shane.
Ted was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Allsteel of West Hazleton, and first employed at Genetti Supermarkets for many years.
Ted was a member of Milhoppers Sportsman’s Club. He was a hunting and fishing enthusiast and enjoyed the outdoors. His most enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are brothers Frederick and Thomas Shane, and an infant brother John.
Surviving, are his wife of 58 years, Anne (McHugh) Shane; son Theodore J. Shane, McAdoo; daughter Patty Shane DeScipio and husband Joseph, Moscow; and Megan Shane Mallets and husband Christopher, McAdoo; grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia, and Gabriel DeScipio; sister, Marion Sunderman and husband Stephen of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Thursday. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
A calling hour will be held Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.
