1934 - 2024

With both sadness for a life lost and gratitude for eternal life gained, we share the news of Shirley Lloyd's peaceful passing, on May 13th, 2024, in the Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Royersford, PA. We take comfort in knowing that she has now joined her loving husband Nathaniel Lloyd who passed away February 11, 2005, in heaven.

Born in West Hazleton on August 15, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Schlorf) Saul.

She was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, McAdoo where she was a former choir director.

She was a graduate of Hazleton High School where she was a majorette, member of the band, and a member the district chorus.

Surviving her are daughters Catherine & David Harnak, Elaine & Robert Kovick, and Cynthia Mercuri; sons Nathaniel & Leann Lloyd and Frank and Carmen Lloyd; a sister Linda Kruse and Dr. Lawrence Kruse; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and also many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Society, Hazleton PA.

Your presence and support during this time of remembrance will bring comfort and strength to all who loved her.

As we celebrate the remarkable life of Shirley, we find solace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind. With deep gratitude for her unwavering faith and boundless love for her family, we invite you to join us in honoring her legacy.

Please join us for a joyful celebration of Shirley's life at the Christ Reformed UCC, 120 E. Washington, St., McAdoo PA on Monday, May 20th, at 10:30 am with Pastor Glenn C. Limbaugh officiating. Following the service, we will gather for a reception at La Dolce Casa in Tamaqua, PA, to share stories and the enduring spirit of faith that Shirley exemplified. Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until time of services in the church.
