Robert H. “Chicky” O’Hazzo Sr., 69, of Tresckow and formerly of Mahanoy City, passed away Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Harold G. “Chick” and Eleanor (Beishline) O’Hazzo.
Robert was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, class of 1973, and of the Byzantine Catholic faith.
Prior to retiring he was employed at HPG International, Mountain Top.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also a passionate fan of Penn State football, the Eagles and Phillies. He was a member of the Tresckow Hosey, McAdoo Fire Co., McAdoo VFW, and the Bear’s Head Sportsman’s Assoc., Delano.
Preceding him in death was his infant sister Dianne O’Hazzo.
Surviving are his daughter Gina Callavini, Hometown; sons Bobby and Tommy O’Hazzo, both of McAdoo; grandchildren Sophia and Avery Callavini; brother John “Richie” O’Hazzo, and sisters Karen Makowiec and Jeanne Ryan and husband Gary, all of Mahanoy City; and nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Thursday. Rev. Gregory Hosler will conduct the service at 11 a.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo. Interment will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul B.C. Cemetery, Beaver Meadows.
A calling hour will be held Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
