Robert J. Hornick, Sr., 59, of Beaver Meadows, passed away Monday at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Hazleton, he is the son of Veronica (Fidishin) Hornick of Beaver Meadows and the late John Hornick, Sr.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran and of the Roman Catholic faith.
He was a Heavy Equipment Operator employed at Meadows Asphalt and Paving Co., Weatherly and along with his father, he was co-proprietor of the former Hornick’s Auto Service, Beaver Meadows.
Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandbabies.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his father, were his brothers John Hornick, Jr. and Ronald Hornick, Sr.; and brother-in-law Richard Rentko.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife Barbara (Baranko) Hornick; son Robert J. Hornick, Jr. and wife Alyssa, Drums; daughter Amber Maguschak and husband Richard, Beaver Meadows; stepchildren Travis Moose and wife Rachel, South Amboy, NJ; Bethany Moose, Freeland; and Jordan Marie Moose, Drums; grandchildren Carson, Samuel, Kaysen and Mckenzie; sister Michele Rhoades, South Carolina; brother Richard Hornick, Tresckow; sisters-in-law Lori Rentko and Deborah Kurtz; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Friday. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Assumption R.C. Cemetery, McAdoo.
Calling hours are Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
