1957 - 2022

Michael Joseph Lyons, 64, of Drums, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in his residence.

He was the husband of the late Barbara J. (Ritz) Lyons who passed away January 30, 2021.

Born in Ambler, PA, he was a son of the late Thomas J. and Elizabeth (Lodge) Lyons.

He was a member of Good Sheppard R.C. Church, Drums where he was an usher. He was also a former member of the Knights of Columbus.  

He was employed in the shipping department for Bradley Caldwell Inc., Hazleton, until retiring.

He was a graduate of Hazleton High School and enjoyed country dancing.

He was a devoted father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. He will also be missed by his fury friend Miriah.

Preceded in death was an infant grandson Joshua Lyons.

Surviving are a daughter Heather Lyons and her companion Jonathan Tressler of Drums; sons Jeremy Lyons and his wife Mary Jo of McAdoo, Michael Lyons and his companion Jessica Schafer of McAdoo, and Joshua Lyons and his companion of Drums; stepson Richard Green Jr. of Hazleton; sisters Elizabeth Watkins and her companion Randy of Montana, Linda Laubach and her companion Russ of Danville, Helen Evans and her husband James of Drums, Margie Stieman and her husband Gary of Montana, and Ann Salkowski of Drums; bothers Thomas and his wife Cathy of Sugarloaf, Paul of Hazleton, James and his companion Louanne of Sugarloaf, and David of Sugarloaf; 7 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and administration at Maylath’s Hospice for the compassionate and comforting care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 87 S. Hunter Highway, Drums, PA, with the Rev. Michael Kolton officiating. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. in the Church.

Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist P.N.C. Cemetery, Hazleton.

The Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo is assisting the family with arrangements.
