Michael Kurtz

Michael Kurtz, 65, of Weissport and formerly of Pardeesville, passed away Thursday morning at St. Luke’s Hospital, Lehighton. 

Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Peter and Regina (Stankiewitch) Kurtz, and of the Russian Orthodox faith.

Michael enjoyed the outdoors, and his time spent as a landscaper.

Preceding him in death, was a brother, Peter J. Kurtz.

Surviving are his siblings, Donna Sipida and husband Bob of New Jersey; Mary Gabriel and husband Daniel of Hazleton; Eileen Cook and husband Daniel of Conyngham; Andrew Kurtz of Weatherly; Daniel Kurtz and companion Jeanie Murphy of Hazle Twp; Paula Veruhis of Maryland; Roman Kurtz of Beaver Meadows; Barbara Mettler and husband Shawn of Stroudsburg; Russian Kurtz of Hazle Twp; and John Kurtz and wife Claudine of Conyngham; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at the Community Bible Fellowship Church, 458 W. Spruce Street, Hazleton.
