Mary Lou Postupack, 90, formerly of McAdoo, passed away Wednesday morning at Mt. City Nursing Center, Hazleton.
Born in McAdoo, she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Helen (Baronchak) Postupack.
Mary Lou was a member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, McAdoo, and a 1952 graduate of McAdoo High School.
She began working in McAdoo as a grocery clerk, waitress, bartender and telephone operator. In New York City, she was a hostess/greeter at the Stage Actors’ Club and Hefner’s Bunny Club. Mary Lou was also a receptionist at the campaign headquarters for Nelson Rockefeller for President.
Her greatest and most rewarding role was being a volunteer with young school children for the Foster Grandparent Program at Arthur Street School, Hazleton. At the age of 75, she parachuted for the first and only time at the Hazleton Airport to benefit the program, and then at 77, she was the recipient of the Angel Award.
She is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her sister, Catherine I. Postupack, Still Creek; guardian, Sharon Beishline and husband, John, Still Creek; and many cousins, near and far.
Rev. Oleh Kuts will conduct the funeral service on Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo. Interment will follow in Postupack Family Cemetery, Ss. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Weatherly.

A calling hour will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
