Mary Ann Novatnak, 68, formerly of Beaver Meadows, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning in Birdsboro at home.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Palko) Novatnak.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at the Hazleton Area School District as a special education aide.
Mary Ann was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and friend and will be sadly missed by all. She had a passion for dogs and especially loved her loyal chihuahuas, Lacey, Lilly and Bella.
Preceding her in death, was her great-nephew, Brandon Novatnak.
Surviving are her son, Michael Pendal and fiancée, Jennifer Andes of Birdsboro; brother, Robert J. Novatnak Sr. of Freeland; nephew, Robert J. Novatnak Jr. of Hazleton; and longtime companion, Jerome Pendal of Junedale.
Her funeral will be held Monday, June 1. Rev. Barnabas Shayo will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity R.C. Cemetery, Hazleton.
A calling hour will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
The Damiano Funeral Home, McAdoo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
