Mary C. Swartz, 96, of Hazleton, passed away Friday morning at the Pavilion at St. Luke Village, Hazleton.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Devinney) Zuern.
Mary was a member of Most Precious Blood R.C. Church, Hazleton. Prior to retiring, she was employed as an operator at AT&T for many years.
Mary will be remembered for her warm spirit, joyful personality, and the love she shared with family and friends. She enjoyed reading and absolutely loved Gone with the Wind. She especially loved shopping, spending afternoons playing bingo, and making cherished memories on many family vacations to Cape May and Sea Isle City, NJ.
Preceding her in death, were her husband, George R. Swartz; and grandson, Mark Joseph Rogers.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Rose and husband, James of Arizona; son, George C. Swartz and wife, Dale of New Hope; daughter, Susan Rogers and husband, Mark of Feasterville; daughter, Janette Kurtz and husband, Michael of Quakake; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Zuern of Downingtown; and nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, May 30 at 12 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo. A calling hour will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the funeral home.
