Lucille Trella, 91, of Hazleton and formerly of Kelayres, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.
Born in Kelayres, she was the daughter of the late Nazzareno and Nellie (Vendura) Capriotti, and of the Roman Catholic faith.
Lucille was a graduate of Hazleton High School, class of 1951. She was a longtime member of the Hazleton Chapter of Beta Sigma Psi, the McAdoo Prime Timers, and also the Christian Mothers’ Society and a dedicated ravioli maker for the former Immaculate Conception Church, Kelayres. She was also an avid bowler for the Hazleton Area Bowling League.
Lucille loved to travel with her family and friends, and had the joy of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Her favorite hobby was knitting, and she lovingly created many beautiful garments for her children and grandchildren. She won several blue ribbons for her craft, including a Best-in-Class award at the Bloomsburg Fair.
Lucille was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family and especially cherished her role as ‘Grandmom’, spending precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years.
Preceding her in death, were her husband, George Trella; son-in-law, Michael Dymek; and brothers, Joseph and Peter Capriotti.
Surviving, are her daughters, Diane Dymek of Florida; and Laurie Veet and husband, Robert of Hazleton; son, Thomas Trella and wife, Allyson of Hazleton; grandchildren, Derek Dymek, Mallory Dixon and husband Keith, Dr. Mackenzie Hubbell and husband Chase, and Erica and Emily Trella; great-grandchildren, Myles and Max Dixon, and Vince Hubbell; nieces and nephews; and Gloria, her loving supporter.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, November 2, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Capriotti’s Cappella, One Banks Ave., McAdoo.
A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Deacon Vince Oberto officiating.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo.
