Joseph W. Shema, 88, recently of Cypress, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 21 at Sterling Oaks Rehabilitation in Katy, Texas.
Born in Tresckow, he was the son of the late Frank and Ida (Sacckette) Shema.
Joseph was a devoted Catholic. He was a graduate of Hazleton Senior High School, class of 1952.
Over the years, Joseph was very active and supportive in his community helping others at his church in Northampton PA.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers Francis, George and John and baby sister Rita.
Surviving, are his wife Anna Marie (Bobeck) Shema and daughter Maryanne Strobel and grandson Philip Strobel and granddaughters Alaina Strobel and Andrea Porter wife of Matt Porter and sisters Irene Makowiec and Veronica Honis and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, November 30. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo.
There will be no calling hours.
