Joseph J. Isganitis, Jr.

Joseph J. Isganitis, Jr., 67, of Kelayres, passed away Sunday evening at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehab. Center, Bloomsburg.

         Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the Late Joseph J. and Genoria ‘Jenny’ (Marsicola) Isganitis, Sr. 

         He was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Tamaqua.

         Joseph was employed as a nurse at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton. He will be sadly missed by all his co-workers.

         Joseph loved scuba diving.  He enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises.  He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer.

         Surviving, are his wife of 10 years, 6 months and 9 days, Paula (DeTurk) Isganitis; sister Anita Arcand and husband Edward, Hometown; nephews, Joseph, Christopher and Gabriel Arcand, and Noah Swaldi; mother-in-law Irene ‘Rene’ Flaherty, Drums; sister-in-law Ann Swaldi and husband Ernest, Ringtown; and aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

         His funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Damiano Funeral Home, Blaine and Cleveland Sts., McAdoo.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Tamaqua. Interment will follow in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. 

         Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
