John M. 'Chita' Voytko

John Michael “Chita” Voytko, 67, of Jeanesville, passed away on Thursday while a patient at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, since December 22. 

Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Cleoria Corra and Pat VanGroski. 

John was a Vietnam Era veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge. He was also a member of the Flying Aces MC, Rockport.

Prior to retiring, he was employed by Fritz Construction of McAdoo.

John was well-known by his nickname ‘Chita’. Anyone who knew John loved him.  He had a gentle loving quality and never had a harsh word no matter the situation. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. Most of all, we his family, will be at a loss without him.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his maternal grandparents William and Priscilla Corra; and niece Sarah Voytko.

Surviving, are his daughter Tina Marie Voytko, of Wilkes-Barre; granddaughters Skylar and Nevaeh Marie Voytko; sister Patricia Gissel and her husband William, of McAdoo; former wife Marietta Voytko, of Kelayres; uncle and aunt Raymond Sr. and Linda Corra, of Hazleton; several cousins; and also survived by his longtime friend who he considered his brother and part of our family, Joseph Fritz, of McAdoo.

A private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations for a college education fund for his granddaughters, payable to Tina Marie Voytko, c/o Damiano Funeral Home, 24 E. Blaine St., McAdoo, PA 18237.
