John L. Gronsky, 74, of McAdoo, passed away suddenly Saturday morning at his home.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Leo and Mary (Kateeshock) Gronsky.
He was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Hershey Company, Hazleton.
John was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed walking in the woods, fly-fishing and target shooting. He also volunteered his time as a little league baseball coach.
Surviving, are his wife of 50 years, Theresa (Yurechko) Gronsky; daughter Colonel Mary Theresa Floyd, USAF and husband Robert of Anchorage, Alaska; sons John M. Gronsky and wife Pamela of Hazleton; and Mark A. Gronsky and wife Kelli of Nesquehoning; grandchildren Gabriella, Matthew and Allie; sister Diane Borchick and husband Louis of McAdoo; and nieces and nephews also survive.
His funeral will be held Thursday. The Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s U.C. Cemetery, McAdoo.
A calling hour will be held Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service in the church.
