Joan T. (Renshaw) Fiore

Joan T. Fiore, 82, of Hazleton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Mt. City Nursing and Rehab Center, Hazle Township, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Freeland, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary (Drobeck) Renshaw.

Joan was a devoted and faithful member of Our Lady of Peace Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. She enjoyed participating in the church’s knitting group and weekly bingo before her illness.

Before retiring, Joan worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph Hospital, as a clerk at Discountland grocery store, and later for the Hazleton Area School District.

After retirement, Joan embraced her favorite role as “Nana.” Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Anthony Fiore; her son, Charles Benjamin Fiore; her brother, David C. Renshaw; and her sister, Rachel Strizak.

Surviving are her daughters, Christine Fiore of Conyngham; Mary Oswald and her husband, Paul, of Conyngham; and Annette Wehrer and her husband, James, of Lakehurst, NJ; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Jack, and Ella Oswald, and Rachel and Isabella Wehrer; her brother, John “Jack” Renshaw and his wife, Dottie, of Wilmington, DE; sister, Mary Ann Perkosky of Freeland; brother, Hubert Renshaw of Freeland; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

A calling hour will be held on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the church.
