Irene Motsuk, 96, formerly of McAdoo, passed away Thursday evening at St. Luke Manor, Hazleton.
Born in McAdoo, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Mary (Toth) Herczeg.
Irene was a member of the former St. Kunegunda Roman Catholic Church, McAdoo.
Prior to retiring, she was employed in the local garment industry. Irene loved to prepare Hungarian meals for her family and friends to enjoy. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, John “Barney” Motsuk, and brothers, Stephen and Lotsie Herczeg.
Surviving are her son, John Motsuk and wife, Nancy, McAdoo, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at noon in St. Stephen’s Hungarian Cemetery, McAdoo. The Rev. Msgr. William Baker will officiate the service.
The Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
