Helen Magula, 92, of Weatherly, passed away Friday afternoon at Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly.
Born in McAdoo on March 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Donish) Pavlick.
She was a graduate of McAdoo High School and worked briefly for Bell Telephone. She met the love of her life (and late husband) Richard and married on May 21, 1955. They were married over 66 years before Richard’s passing.
She was a loving wife and mother, and worked as a daytime waitress at Gabriel’s Bar and Restaurant in Hazleton Heights.
Helen and Richard spent their life together traveling, working with parishioners to better their church and enjoyed every moment spent with their family.
Helen was well-known by her many friends as being kind, generous and loving. She was strong in her faith and always willing to share it with others. She offered prayer for many, as well as being comforting and encouraging to those in need of it.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael, and brother, George Pavlick Jr.
Surviving are her son John and his wife Karen of Weatherly; a brother Robert Pavlick and his wife Donna of Maryland; grandson Justin and his wife Nadia of Charlottesville, VA; granddaughter Heather Tuberion and her husband Brian of Mountain Top, PA; great-grandchildren Aria, Henry, and Cecily Magula and Brian Tuberion Jr; and nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at St. Gabriel Church, Hazleton. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, McAdoo.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service in the church.
