Francis G. Zapotocky, Sr., 80, of Tresckow, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Mountain Top Senior Care Center.
Born in Beaver Meadows, he was the son of the late George Zapotocky and Johanna (Hudock) Zapotocky-Sacckette, and late stepfather William Sacckette.
Francis was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Prior to retiring, he was first employed at General Foam, later at Foster Wheeler, and last employed at Michael’s Distribution Center.
Preceding him in death, were his wife Barbara (Christina) Zapotocky; brother Eugene Zapotocky; and sister-in-law Mary Ann Christina.
Surviving, are his son Francis G. Zapotocky, Jr., of Tresckow; granddaughters Cassie Jean, Holly Ann, and Emilie Frances Zapotocky; great-grandsons Mason and Maxwell Smulligan, Benjamin Zapotocky and Owen Charles Koehler; sisters Joanne Zavitsky and husband Edward, of Junedale; Wilma Dercole and husband Michael, of Drums; and Debbie Stefanisko and husband Joseph, of McAdoo; brother William Sacckette, of Lattimer; goddaughter Janine Thomas, of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
His funeral will be held Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 10 a.m. by Rev. Msgr. William Baker. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s R.C. Cemetery, Tresckow.
A calling hour will be held Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.
