Eugene J. Shott, 79, of Tresckow, passed away Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Born in Hazleton on January 3, 1947, he was the son of the late Frank and Hattie (Palahofski) Shott and lived in Hazleton until his marriage on May 8, 1982 to Theresa Wandishin. Eugene was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Hazleton.
He was an Army veteran and served in the United States, France and Germany during the Vietnam era. He went on to serve as a Pennsylvania State Trooper until his retirement, a career he truly loved and took great pride in.
Eugene was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved to hunt and garden.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a brother Gregory Shott.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Theresa (Wandishin) Shott; sister, Bonnie Gochalla and husband Joseph, of Hazleton; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wandishin, of Tresckow; and nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 10, at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Hazleton. Private interment will follow in St. Michael’s R.C. Cemetery, Tresckow.
A calling hour will be held Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.
