Eugene T. Contrady, 83, of Conyngham, passed away Friday at Mt. City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazle Twp.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Bavolack) Contrady.
Eugene was a Vietnam War veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
Prior to retiring, he was employed for many years as a dedicated Pennsylvania State Trooper and subsequently as Process Server in Luzerne County.
He was a member of the FOP Lodge #38, the American Legion, and Elks Lodge, Hazleton. An avid golfer, Eugene enjoyed his membership at Indian Valley Country Club, Telford and the Valley Country Club, Conyngham.
Preceding him in death, were brothers, Theodore and John Contrady, and sister, Anna Ryan.
Surviving are his son, Marc Contrady and wife, Crystal, of New Castle, DE; grandchildren, Madison and Marcus; brothers Joseph Contrady, of McAdoo and Emil Contrady, of New Jersey; sisters, Donna McFadden and Rosemary Clayton, both of New Jersey; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, March 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Greenlawn Cemetery, Lansdale, PA.
