Dorothy J. (Scrbacic) Yanoshik

Dorothy J. (Scrbacic) Yanoshik, 87, of Lofty, passed away peacefully on November 25, at the Manor at St. Luke Village, Hazleton. 

Born in Lansford on July 4, 1935, to Luka and Mary (Majcan) Scrbacic. She was a graduate of Lansford High School and was a seamstress for many years.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers Steve and Luke Scrbacic; and sisters Katherine Puskar, Helen Coladonato, Agnes Erbe and Lucy Reece.

Dorothy was the wife of John ‘Jack’ Yanoshik of Lofty and would have celebrated their 65thwedding anniversary on November 30th.

Dorothy loved to sew and craft. She enjoyed traveling, swimming, baking and mostly spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sports, especially watching the Phillies and football. She was a member of All Saints Church and was a devout catholic.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children John Yanoshik and wife Kathy of Edinboro; Marianne Dougherty and husband Richard of Ambler; and Mark Yanoshik of Lofty; grandchildren Rick Yanoshik and wife Patti; Daniel Dougherty and wife Samantha; and Sara Leitzel and husband Patrick; great-grandchildren Christian Yanoshik, Martin Dougherty, and Richard, Katie Mae and Grace Leitzel; also surviving is her beloved sister Mary Anne Whitehead of Hatboro, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at The Manor at St. Luke Village for their compassionate, kind care during her three years there. They are truly special people.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
