Denise A. Fowler

Denise A. Fowler, 72, of Hazleton, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Hazleton, she is the daughter of Eleanor (Cusate) Fowler, of Weatherly and the late Howard Fowler.

Denise was a graduate of St. Gabriel’s High School, class of 1969.

Prior to retiring, she was employed as a Director of Care/Support with the Institute of Human Resources, Kingston. Denise loved doing her job.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, cooking for her family and was a passionate fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She most loved spending time with her family. Denise’s personality was magnetic and once you met her you would never forget her. She had a quick-witted sense of humor and was known for her sarcasm. Throughout her life, she strived to be many to all and was always devoted to her family and job. 

Denise was a do-er! If you wanted something done either she knew how to do it or knew someone who could! Denise loved her Coca-Cola for sure, and her recliner. She was an adventurous woman, never fearful and always took chances. Denise loved her music and to sing. She was always ready for a road trip.

Denise may be gone but she will not be forgotten just because of the woman she was. 

She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Heritage Hill in Weatherly and also the staff at St. Luke’s Pavilion in Hazleton as they both showed wonderful care and compassion towards her.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her father, was her grandson Rasjon Walters.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her daughter, Deanne Walters; grandchildren, Brinaya Gibbs and Troy Kendricks Jr; Aunt, Joan Palko and her husband Jerome S. Palko; and Cousins, Jerome M. Palko and his wife Michele, Geraldine Maylath and John Hydock.

Private funeral services will be held.
