Charmaine Welsh, 63, of McAdoo, and formerly of Drums, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Irene (Steadele) Ahlbrandt and was the Methodist faith.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital and later at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Charmaine was a former leader for local girl and boy scout organizations. She enjoyed country line dancing as a pastime. She most loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and dogs, Chewbacca and Bailey.
Charmaine was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and she will be sadly missed by all.
Preceding her in death were her grandson, Joshua Lyons; sister, Violet Licari; and brothers, David and Robert Ahlbrandt.
Surviving are her husband of 14 years, Mark Welsh; children, Jeremy Lyons and wife Mary Jo, McAdoo; Heather Lyons and companion Jonathan Tressler, Drums; Michael Lyons II and companion Jessica Schafer, McAdoo; and Joshua Lyons and companion Cassie Kelchak, of Drums; stepson Austin Welsh, Bloomsburg; 7 grandchildren; brother, Ronald Ahlbrandt, Drums; sisters, Dawn Klick, Drums, and Yvonne Thomas and husband Robert, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.
Rev. Todd Glasmire will conduct the funeral service on Monday, 11 a.m., at the Damiano Funeral Home, Inc., McAdoo. Interment will follow in Drums Community Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
