Barbara J. (Ritz) Lyons

Barbara J. Lyons, 72, of Drums, passed away Saturday morning at the Pavilion at St. Luke Village, Hazleton. 

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Mauro Ritz and Marjorie (DeMelfi) Ritz.

She was a member of Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Drums.

Barbara enjoyed many years employed as a bridal consultant for Boscov’s, of Hazleton.

In her younger years, she was a den mother for a Boy Scout Troop in Hazleton. She loved spending time country line dancing and adored her loyal pet dogs.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were an infant daughter Yvonne and a stepbrother Joseph Swett.

Surviving, are her husband of 23 years, Michael J. Lyons, of Drums; son Richard Green and fiancée Lori Gasper of Hazleton; grandson Richard Green, Jr., of Hazleton; granddaughter Amanda of New Jersey; stepchildren Jeremy Lyons, of McAdoo, Heather Lyons, of Drums, Michael Lyons, of McAdoo, and Joshua Lyons of Drums; and several step-grandchildren. 

Her funeral will be held Thursday.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Drums. A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church.

Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist P.N.C. Cemetery, Hazleton.
