Anna A. (Slifka) Vochosky, 98, entered eternal rest on January 6, 2026. Currently residing in Flemington, New Jersey, she passed away peacefully after a brief decline due to her age.
Anna, born in Kelayres, moved to McAdoo with her family as a young girl and attended local public schools and McAdoo High School. After her marriage she moved to Manville, NJ, where she and her husband Leo raised their children; in their later years, Anna and Leo returned to live in McAdoo. Anna was active in the parish of Sacred Heart Church of Manville, using her sewing skills to create useful and attractive items that sold very well at church bazaars. She had a successful and rewarding career in the corporate food service industry as a manager. A few years ago she sold her McAdoo home and relocated to Flemington, NJ, to live with family, but was always grateful for the McAdoo friends she left behind who kept her up on news of old friends and goings-on.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Vochosky, her two siblings Cecilia C. (Slifka) Falatovich and Michael D. Slifka, and her parents Elizabeth T. (Smutek) Slifka and Michael D. Slifka. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth A. Paliani of Flemington, NJ, and Michele Vochosky and partner Peggy Durbin of Los Alamos, NM, as well as granddaughters Ann Marie Paliani and partner Vinny Browne, and Kathryn Simon and her husband Paul of Flemington, NJ, and great-grandchildren, Rosalie Ann and Louis Leo Simon. She leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial mass on January 13, 2026 at 11:00 at All Saints Catholic Church (35 N. Cleveland St.) in McAdoo. Following mass Anna will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Byzantine Church Cemetery, McAdoo. Funeral home: Damiano’s Funeral Home, McAdoo; no public visitation.
