Philip R. Domin, 49, of Hazleton, passed away Sunday evening at Celtic Hospice of Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre, after a two-year intensive battle with cancer.
Born in Hazleton, he is the son of Richard and Donna (Aiello) Domin, of Hazleton.
Philip was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Hazleton.
He was a 1987 graduate of Hazleton High School and a 1989 graduate of Stevens College of Technology.
Philip was the General Manager at Advanced Auto Parts, Tamaqua, and was very dedicated to his job.
Philip was an avid classic car enthusiast and won many trophies for his show and race car. He started the Hazleton Rapid Transit System in 1989 and remained President for 25 years. He also worked in conjunction with the Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Funfest Auto Show. Philip enjoyed sharing his love of dirt bikes and classic cars with his daughter Dominique.
Preceding him in death, are his maternal grandparents Philip and Rose (Lagana) Aiello; and uncle Frank Aiello; Paternal grandparents John and Olga (Politza) Domin; and uncle Michael Domin.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife of 17 years Daniela (Zdrahala) Domin; twin daughters, whom he adored, Dominique and Alexis; brothers Bryan and Kevin Domin, both of Hazleton; father-in-law and mother-in-law Dusan and Jarmila Zdrahala, of Drums; aunt Sandra Smell and husband Jack, of Coaldale; and many cousins also survive.
His funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Damiano Funeral Home Inc., Blaine and Cleveland Sts., McAdoo. Father Brian Clarke will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Hazleton.
Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
