Michael E. Mehalshick

Michael E. Mehalshick, 82, of McAdoo, passed away Saturday morning at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. 

            Born in McAdoo, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Koscik) Mehalshick.

            He was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.

            Michael was a U.S. Army veteran.

            Prior to retiring, he was first employed at Cerrito Television, Hazleton and later for the PA Dept. of Transportation.

            Michael served on the McAdoo Sewer Authority and was Past President of the McAdoo Borough Council.  He also served as President of Hazleton High School Band Parents Assoc. and former President of McAdoo Little League.

            Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are brothers John and Joseph Mehalshick; infant sister Rita Mehalshick; and sisters Elaine Stahovich, Helen Lazur and Mary Frye.

             Surviving, are his wife of 55 years, Gertrude (Bunk) Mehalshick; daughter Cindy Crowley and husband John of Tampa, FL; son Michael R. Mehalshick and wife Tricia Zoba of Sugarloaf; grandchildren Mackenzie Crowley, and Michael W. and Abby Mehalshick; nieces and nephews also survive.

            His funeral will be held Friday.  The Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo.

            A calling hour will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to the time of service in the church.
