Mary T. Baranko, 77, of Kelayres, passed away peacefully at home on Monday evening surrounded by her loving daughters.
Born in Tresckow, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Zyats) Martzen.
Mary was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo and a Hazleton Senior High School graduate, class of 1958.
Prior to retiring, she was employed in the local garment industry.
Mary celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage with her husband George (2007). Her greatest joys were spending time with her family. They will fondly remember her cooking, especially chicken fingers and veal cutlets.
She adored spending time with her 6 angels and hosting sleepovers filled with card and board games and a special breakfast at the Diner. Mary also enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and watching ID Network. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband George A. Baranko; daughter Andrea Marie Baranko; brothers Bernard and Joseph Martzen; sister-in-law Constance Baranko; brother-in-law Roy Corradini; son-in-law Richard Rentko.
Surviving, are daughters Lori Rentko, Drums; Deborah Kurtz and husband Matthew, Bloomsburg; and Barbara Moose and fiancé Robert J. Hornick, Beaver Meadows; grandchildren Travis Moose and wife Rachel, Ashley Kurtz and fiancé Kiel Eigen, Joseph Rentko, Jessica Kurtz, and Bethany and Jordan Moose; sister Anna Corradini, Hazleton; brother-in-law John Baranko, Mechanicsburg; sisters-in-law Elaine Martzen, Hazleton, and Marion Martzen, McAdoo; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Her funeral will be held Monday. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Cemetery, McAdoo.
A calling hour will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation.
