June M. Mastrone, 59, of McAdoo, passed away Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, she is the daughter of Dorothy (Pekar) Kovac of McAdoo, and the late Robert Kovac.
June was employed with the Hazleton Standard Speaker for 22 years.
She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
June was a member of the McAdoo VFW Post 6708 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as Conductress.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her father, was a sister Wendy Tomlin.
Surviving, are daughters Danielle Dolena and husband Tim of New Tripoli; and Jennifer Askew and husband Eric of McAdoo; son Stephen Mastrone of McAdoo; grandchildren Abigail Bleich, Connor Askew, Vito Mastrone and Lily Dolena; sisters Cindy Kovac of McAdoo, and Diane Dowdell of Levittown; and brother Craig Kovac of McAdoo; nieces and nephews also survive.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home Inc., Blaine and Cleveland Sts., McAdoo. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will conduct the service.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
