Frank C. Vendura, 87, of Kelayres, passed away Monday morning at St. Luke Pavilion, Hazleton.
Born in Kelayres, he was the son of the late Charles and Mildred (McAloose) Vendura.
Frank was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.
Prior to retiring, he was employed in the area garment industry, and later for Boyer’s Food Market, McAdoo.
Frank relished the time spent attending his grandson’s sporting events and activities. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed woodworking. He was also a dedicated Eagles fan.
Frank was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be sadly missed.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife Anna M. (Skulski) Vendura; infant sister Anna Mae Vendura, sisters Inez Scatton, and Eileen DeBalko and brother Peter Vendura.
Surviving, are his daughter Anna Mae Schoennagle and husband Robert, of Lattimer; grandson Justin Schoennagle and wife Dr. Courtney Schoennagle of Sugarloaf; sister Josephine Brescia, of Arizona; brother Charles Vendura and wife Carol, of Florida; and many nieces and nephew also survive.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Damiano Funeral Home, Inc., Blaine and Cleveland Streets, McAdoo. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception R. C. Cemetery, McAdoo.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
